Prof. Rima Nabbout
Bio
Rima Nabbout is Professor of Paediatric Neurology and Director of the National Centre for Rare Epilepsies at Necker-Enfants Malades Hospital in Paris. She has led the Centre since 2006 and was appointed Professor in 2014.
She holds an MD, a PhD in Neurosciences, and an HDR (Accreditation to Supervise Research), and leads the epilepsy research programme at the Imagine Institute within the Translational Research for Neurological Diseases team. Her work focuses on rare and complex epilepsies, including developmental and epileptic encephalopathies, with a strong emphasis on improving care pathways, quality of life, and long-term outcomes for individuals and families.
Prof. Nabbout is a founding member of EpiCARE, the European Reference Network for Rare and Complex Epilepsies, and holds multiple international leadership roles within the International League Against Epilepsy. She coordinates several major European research initiatives and has served as Principal Investigator on landmark international clinical trials in rare epilepsies.
