  • Eugen Trinka, a neurologist and psychiatrist, is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Neurology at Paracelsus Medical University Salzburg, Salzburg, Austria, where he also serves as Vice Dean for clinical affairs.

    Eugen is President-Elect of the Austrian Society of Neurology and was the former President of the Austrian Chapter of the International League against Epilepsy (ILAE), where he remains an active member of several task forces.

    Eugen is Chair of the European Collaboration for Epilepsy Trials at EpiCARE and actively leading/involved in multiple European Reference Network activities.

    Eugen received his MD from the University of Vienna, Vienna, Austria, and trained at the General Hospital and Christian Doppler Clinic in Salzburg, Austria. Eugen went on to complete a research fellowship at the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital, Montreal, Canada. Subsequently, he worked as an Associate Professor of Neurology at the Medical University of Innsbruck, Innsbruck, Austria, and was later appointed as Head of the Epilepsy Service in the Department of Neurology. In parallel, Eugen received an MSc in Public Health Sciences and Technology from the University for Health Sciences, Medical Informatics, and Technology, Tirol, Austria.
